The Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County offers a wide variety of programs in order to develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment, & social skills.
Our facility has ample space for kids to run and participate in daily activities. We have two, full-sized basketball courts and a multi- purpose room. The gym is open every day and activities such as basketball, kickball, dodgeball, yoga, relay races, “boot camp”, ultimate Frisbee, and many more. These games are offered to not only provide our members an outlet for their energy, but to help them learn the importance of teamwork and good sportsmanship.
We also participate in the national Boys & Girls Club program called “Triple Play”, through which fitness & nutrition is address, while encouraging a healthy body image at the same time.
A Game Plan for Mind, Body, & Soul
Triple Play, the Boys & Girls Club of America’s first comprehensive health and wellness program, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.
The Mind Component: Encourages young people to eat smart through the Healthy Habits program, which covers the power of choice, calories, vitamins and minerals, the food pyramid and appropriate portion size.
The Body Component: Boosts Clubs’ traditional physical activities to a higher level by providing sports and fitness activities for all youth.
The Soul Component: Helps build positive relationships and cooperation among young people.
